Byala Municipality is the entrance door to the District of Ruse from Western and Central Bulgaria. It borders on the District of Targoviste and the District of Veliko Tarnovo.
The size of the municipality is 341 sq. km. The municipal center – the town of Byala- is located 55 km from Ruse and 58 km from Veliko Tarnovo, 22 km from Polski Trambesh and 53 km from Popovo.
The municipality has a strategic locality from geographical point of view and defines its importance in the national transport, energy and communication infrastructure. It is a natural boundary between two districts and there are very important roads and communication junctions crossing its territory - national motorways to Sofia and South Bulgaria, railway Ruse-Sofia, principal optic cable, international cable connections, etc.
